In the “Turkey’s Second 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises - 2024” research announced by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), Öztürk Hazelnut, one of Giresun’s leading companies in the hazelnut sector, ranked 140th, bringing great pride to Giresun. On the same list, Karadere Agricultural Products was also placed at 382nd.
Hamza Bölük, Chairman of the Board of Giresun Commodity Exchange, congratulated the companies on making the list and shared the following remarks:
“The presence of our companies from Giresun on ISO’s Second 500 list once again highlights the strength and potential of the hazelnut sector. I sincerely congratulate all the managers and employees involved in this success, especially Öztürk Findik. This ranking shows how solid Giresun’s hazelnut-based economic structure is. We believe that with investments directed toward value-added products, our companies will achieve even higher rankings.”
Hamza Bölük emphasized that hazelnuts are “indispensable” for Giresun’s economy and noted that increasing new investments, R&D efforts, and incentives will boost both production and employment.
Bölük stated that along with the companies listed in the ISO 500 rankings, Giresun’s production power has become more visible and stressed that more support at both local and central levels is necessary for this success to be sustainable.
