Four companies from Giresun were included in Ekonomist Magazine's "Top 500 Companies in Anatolia" list. Three of these companies operate in Bulancak.
Yavuzkan Hazel Food (Bulancak): Ranked 171st with a turnover of 4,696,149,551 TL.
Yavuz Food (Bulancak): Ranked 262nd with a turnover of 3,193,889,074 TL.
Ahmet AK Food (Tirebolu): Ranked 291st with a turnover of 2,837,989,321 TL.
Öztürk Hazelnut Food Petroleum Agricultural Products (Bulancak): Ranked 313th with a turnover of 2,584,957,912 TL.
These companies once again highlighted Giresun's economic potential and especially its strength in the hazelnut sector.
Hamza BÖLÜK, Chairman of the Board of Giresun Commodity Exchange, made the following remarks;
“We are very pleased with the successes our member companies demonstrate every year. I wholeheartedly congratulate our companies leading the way in increasing the value of Turkish Hazelnuts both in Turkey and specifically in Giresun. This shows us once again that hazelnuts are very important for Giresun’s economy, and also hold a very valuable place in Turkey’s agricultural export potential.
When we examine this ranking, we see valuable companies from many hazelnut-producing provinces of Turkey. What is especially valuable for us is that the place of Turkish Hazelnuts in the Turkish economy continues with the same determination and stability. This also shows us that despite many difficulties faced by these and similar companies that work tirelessly to enhance our country's competitiveness and potential in hazelnuts, they have created added value for their country, which is especially commendable. I sincerely congratulate the company managers and all employees on behalf of our community.
To end many of the challenges faced by our sector, especially regarding access to finance and resolving many negative factors that adversely affect competition, I hereby call on the authorities to take action.”
